I am back with another awesome post for you all. Today, we would be talking about home remedies for lip infections. Lip infection is any kind of lip blister, ulcer or lesion on the lips. These outbreaks can be embarrassing and painful at the same time. It may also lead to fungal infection which might be harmful for the lips. There are various reasons that can cause lip infections. It can be caused due to too much consumption of citrus food, bad eating habits, hygiene issues and drug reactions. If you often suffer from lip infections, below are some of the best home remedies to treat the problem.

1. Castor oil treatment:

Castor oil contains anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties which help in healing the lip infections. It also promotes luscious and kissable pout. Massage some castor oil on the lips without applying any pressure. You can also add some castor oil with warm milk and apply it on the lips.

2. Tea tree oil:

Tea tree oil works as an anti bacterial agent and helps in treating the lip infections. It also fights against the free radicals and reduces inflammation. Apply some tea tree oil on the lips. Massage for some time and leave it overnight. It is always advised to apply tea tree oil with a cotton swab or cotton ball.

3. Yogurt:

Yogurt contains Lactobacillus acidophilus which helps to prevent the growth of fungus on the lips. It helps to deal with the irritation on the lips and to keep the lips supple. Apply some yogurt on your lips and massage for some time. Wash off with cold water.

4. Milk:

Lactic acid in milk helps to deal with the inflammation and swelling of the lips. Milk helps to relieve the pain and also works as a quick healer. Apply some cold milk on the lips and leave it for some time. Rinse off with cold water.

5. Turmeric paste:

Turmeric has the ability to prevent the growth of fungus and hinder cell adhesion. Due to anti inflammatory properties found in turmeric, it helps in healing the lip infections easily. Take few spoons of turmeric and add some water to it. Mix together and apply it on the lips. Leave it until it dries and wash off with clean water.

6. Black tea:

Black tea contains astringent properties that help to reduce the swelling and also treat the lip infections. The tannins found in black tea can keep your lips supple and prevent the growth of bacteria. Boil some tea in water for 10 minutes. Allow the water to cool down. Then, apply the tea water on the lips. Allow it to dry and wash off.

7. Epsom salt:

Another effective remedy to treat lip infection is using Epsom salt. Epsom contains fungal properties which help to prevent the growth of fungus on the lips. Add some Epsom salt to lukewarm water and gargle with this solution. This works great for oral hygiene as well. You can also make a paste of Epsom salt and baking soda to apply on the lips. Wash off with water after 15 minutes.

8. Aloe vera gel:

One of the easiest and cheapest way to treat lip infection is using aloe vera gel. Acidic properties of aloe vera gel can discourage the growth of bacteria on the lips. Apply fresh aloe vera gel on the lips more than thrice and wash off with cold water after some time. Repeat this therapy every day to get rid of the lip infections.
