Get out of your winter rut and start swiping these hot shades for spring. Cool-girl manicurist and Sally Hansen global color ambassador Madeline Poole breaks down the “it” colors you need this season.

Buttery Yellow

Pastel yellow is one of Poole’s faves. “It’s such a rare color for nails,” she says, “but it has a way of illuminating the skin around it.”

Smith & Cult Nail Polish in “The Bee Side,” $18

Dusty Teal

When you’re switching from darker winter colors to sunnier shades, a baby blue hue might feel too drastic. To ease into spring’s trends, try a softer, grey-blue. “It isn’t too harsh,” she says.

Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in “Washed Denim,” $28

Juicy Magenta

Can’t decide between red or hot pink? Go for a raspberry shade. The in-between color is the best of both worlds and is perfect for spring.

Essie Nail Polish in “B’aha Moment!,”$9

Mellow Mushroom

Plain browns can be boring. Perk up your classic go-to and choose a shimmering tan instead. “The mushroom tone feels really expensive and chic,” Poole explains.

J.Hannah Nailpolish in “Chanterelle,”$19

Bold Chartreuse

A vivid neon isn’t for the faint of heart. But this out-there color is funky, fun, complements all skin tones, and will perk up pale winter skin in as little as two coats.

China Glaze Nail Lacquer in “Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” $8

Forest Green

Just because it’s spring, doesn’t mean you have to stick to brights and lights. A dark green hue adds some unexpected glamour during the warmer months.

Christian Louboutin Beauty Nail Polish in “Zermadame,” $50

Mod White

A stark, creamy white looks just as luxe on fingers as it does on toes. Find an opaque version with an ultra-glossy finish.

Wet n Wild WildShine Nail Color in “French White Crème,” $5

Shimmering Cobalt

The upgrade on traditional blue is a quick way for you to get in on the chrome polish trend. “Plus, when the sun hits it, it has a metallic sheen unlike any other,” Poole says.

Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish in “Soothing Sapphire,” $7

Soft Lavender

Poole describes the perfect lavender as having just enough pink and blue to feel saturated yet balanced. Not great at color theory? Here’s one that has just the right amount of both of the aforementioned shades.

Jinsoon Nail Polish in “Ube,” $18

Silky Grey

If you’re still on the hunt for the perfect neutral, this cool grey is a cool alternative for spring.

Tenoverten Nail Polish in “Essex,” $18

Fiery Orange

A bright reddish-orange is bold andsexy. Even better: all you need is one coat of this lacquer thanks to its deeply pigmented formula.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in “Kook-A-Mango,” $9

Ballet Pink

If you’re more of a girly girl, consider a light, creamy pink your go-to neutral for spring. Wear it day or night with any outfit.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in “Cake By The Ocean,” $20
