Lemon juice
Adding lemon to water is yet another quick way to fix damage caused due to hard water. Due to the acidic nature of lemon, it can prevent hair build-up. You need to add one cup of lemon juice to three cups of water for best results. Mix lemon juice properly and wash your hair with this.
Vodka
Adding vodka seems like an interesting tip, right? Experts have proven that vodka can be added to hard water in order to minimize the damage caused due to hard water minerals. Add some vodka to your shampoo and then massage your hair with it. The acidic properties of vodka can actually remove unwanted minerals from your hair. This trick will save your hair from getting affected by vodka.
Rainwater
Experts believe that rainwater is quite pure, thus it is an excellent substitute for hard water. Rain water is very soft and mineral-free, hence it can be used by everyone. You can add 2 cups of rain water to 3 cups of hard water in order to neutralize the effect of hard water on hair. Make sure you boil the rain water first, let it cool down and then use it.
A chelating shampoo

Bottled water

Once you have washed your hair with hard water, you should immediately soothe it with argan oil. Hard water can leave your hair dry, frizzy and dull, hence always pamper it with argan oil. You can either add a few drops of argan oil to your shampoo or use it as a leave-in conditioner.
