Nail biting, also known as onychophagia, is an oral compulsive habit. It is sometimes described as a parafunctional activity, the common use of the mouth for an activity other than speaking, eating or drinking. And you’ll agree, unappealing, bitten nails take so much from your appearance.

It’s not entirely clear why nail biting occurs. It’s considered an impulse control problem as well as a habit. Some people believe that most likely nail biting is instinctual, left over from our time as primates, and that when we’re stressed these instincts come out against our will.

Short bitten nails don’t look very pleasing to watch so why not do a total makeover?

The perfect guide for this is the YouTube channel called The Nails Queen. She is going to teach us how to fix short bitten nails using acrylic. Basically, you start by putting the tips on and then shaping them. Moving on she is using a beautiful red color and applying it to her nails.

To add some more drama to them, she is going to take some gold glitter and apply it on the fingers she wants to create a design. This is basically it and as you can see it is a big transformation.

This is a really good chance to remove the biting habit by having your nails done all the time. Even if you don’t have a problem with biting you can practice this look.

Also a lot of the YouTube comments were positive:

“They are so amazingly gorgeous PERFECTO! Keep up the awesome work, hun. I give it infinity out of ten.”
