Hello, friends,

I am back with another post! Today, we would be talking about how to maintain hair after rebonding. Rebonding your hair is one among the famous treatments that can help to straighten your hair easily. Rebonding creams used while rebonding hair can help to break the proteins, thus, giving you straight, silky and smooth hair. Once the bonds in the hair are broken, you can straighten your hair without any difficulty. This treatment is generally recommended for women with frizzy and unmanageable hair. Hair rebonding can be easily done in the salons but it requires a lot of effort and care to maintain it. So, here we mention ways to maintain hair after rebonding.

1. Avoid hot water as much as possible:

One important step that you should follow after rebonding is to avoid using hot water as much as possible. If you are thinking that you should avoid hot water and use lukewarm water, then you’re wrong! You should prevent using lukewarm water as well and use only cold water. Using lukewarm or hot water can destroy or damage your hair completely.

2. Avoid washing your hair immediately:

You should avoid washing your hair immediately after rebonding. Experts say that you should prevent washing your hair for at least 2-3 days after getting your hair rebonded. Avoiding washing the hair for few initial days allows the rebonding cream to penetrate deeply into the roots, thus, giving you the maximum benefits. Although you may deal with dry and sticky hair for 2-3 days, that’s fine!

3. Always use a conditioner:

You should always use a conditioner to treat your rebonded hair. Conditioning your rebonded hair is must as it helps to keep it moisturized, hydrated and frizz-free. Apply a generous amount of conditioner onto your hair and massage it well. Wash off with conditioner with cold water. Use Crabtree and Evelyn La Source Revitalising Seaweed Conditioner or Dove Environmental Defence Conditioner for hair.

4. Use the right type of shampoo:

You should always use the right type of shampoo which suits your hair type and is also suitable to be used on rebonded hair. You can ask the salon expert which is the best product to be used on the hair and prefer using the same all the time. Always remember to use a conditioner after shampoo like we mentioned before. Use Crabtree and Evelyn La Source Volumising Seaweed Shampoo,Garnier Whole Blends Color Care Shampoo with Argan Oil and Cranberry Extracts, or Matrix Opti.Care Smoothing Shampoo for rebonded hair.

5. Steaming your hair:

Another important step in order to maintain rebonded hair is steaming your hair. You should steam your hair every 15 days so that it keeps it soft and hydrated. In order to steam your hair at home, take a towel and dip it in lukewarm water. Squeeze out the excess water and wrap the towel around your hair. Wait for 10-15 minutes and repeat this. Steaming the hair is a natural way to condition your hair quickly.

6. Always trim your hair regularly:

Regular trimming is recommended for everyone but you should pay special attention to your hair after rebonding. You are advised to trim your hair regularly so that you get rid of the split ends. Trimming can generally help to maintain the healthiness of the hair. This will help to make rebonding last on your hair.

7. Avoid styling your hair:

Once you have got your hair rebonded, say no to styling tools! Yes, you’re not allowed to use a blow dryer either. If you want to dry your hair and have no other option, use a blow dryer in cold setting. Cold air does not damage your hair and is safe to be used on rebonded hair.

8. No chemical treatment:

You should not damage your hair by opting for any chemical treatments, at least for 6 months. You should prevent getting highlights, streaks, global hair coloring or any other chemical treatment. Don’t mess with your hair for some time.
