This cake recipe combines two of Jenn Johns’ biggest passions: the legendary My Little Pony Cake toys and rainbows. In fairness they are not exclusive to Jenn Johns. I think she may share these passions with a lot of people. I know a few for sure.
The whole cake is a beautiful explosion of rainbows. A rainbow doll, a complete coating of rainbow candy, a rainbow surprise inside and “if that isn’t enough rainbows, a beautiful rainbow arch to complete the cake”.
But the most striking feature, proudly sitting on top and really making it unique, is the My Little Pony Cake figurine.
This series of toys used to be one of the most popular among the children of North America during the 1980’s and 1990’s. They have since been redesigned several times to make them more appealing to new generations. In 2010, an animated TV series called My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic was launched. Every time they come back the keep the old magic but bring some new elements.
The doll on top of this cake is modeled after the newest line of fashion dolls launched in 2013. She’s from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls.
