las Vegas born, Utah-based Luciana McGee is a licensed professional nail tech. Reaching above 150.000 devoted subscribers on her YouTube page, her latest tutorial shows us the path to acrylic nails in several different formats. The patterns she’s established are quite spacy: she used bright yellow and deep purple tones with a hint of jungle green! She used the brand Tones when it comes to the acrylic colors. The shell paper she got from Ali Express.
1. Thinking of the finished product
Luciana insists that the finished product i.e the filling should look no thicker than a paper.
When you apply your product by the cuticle area you want to make sure that it looks very very thin.
2. Remove the old product
Using a drill, remove the old product. Make is as thin as possible. Shape up the sides in ballerina shape (a tapered square). Refine it further with a nail file. Push back the cuticles. Pay attention to refining the top of the nail as well. Dust off all the dust and clean the nail with alcohol.
3. Prepare the base
Use two coats of protein bond on each nail. Apply clear acrylic. Try to do it as thin as possible. For the next step, you are going to want to blend three different colors of acrylic polish. On top of those layers, you are going to apply glitter and shell paper. Apply the glitter above a jar, when you tap it you can save the excess of the product in the jar. Dust any excess glitter off of your fingernail. To cap the art on the nail, apply glass acrylic.
4. File and buff all the nails.
5. Apply top gel
6. Finish with cuticle oil and rub it well into the cuticle.
