You wouldn’t believe how much I enjoy a nice, elegant, classy bun. It’s the perfect no-time, no-effort hairstyle to wear either to a Sunday brunch, a weekly night out with a chic gown or just with jeans and a white tee.
Buns go with almost any clothing imaginable!
Tina over at MakeupWearables has perfected them down to a T. This is one of the easiest buns I could find on her channel to share with you.
At the very end, she explains that with this particular video she wanted to help people with thin hair, namely, you don’t have to have thick hair for this bun.
Just as with any hair styling procedure that you do at home, you want to make sure that the hair is well washed. If you washed it just the day before, go over it once more with a dry shampoo.
Start by making a diagonal section right behind the ear and put the rest of your hair into a ponytail.
Take a small section from the ponytail and clip it away.
Backcomb the rest of the ponytail to bring more volume to the bun. After you’ve done that, bring that one strand down and smooth it with the rest. Hairspray it.
Fold the ponytail over and wrap the tail around the elastic. Fasten it with bobby pins.
Undo the very first sectioned that you clipped away. Take it across the head and wrap it around the elastic.
Keep the last section neat, hairspray it and go through it once more with a comb. Tug the last strand that goes diagonally a bit, to make it more loose and natural looking.
The last diagonal strand that we introduced gives movement to the hairstyle and makes it quite elegant. I would say it is a rather ‘night’ kind of bun!
